SocialTrendly Featured on UpWorks

The good folks at UpWorks called us recently to interview us.
For those of you who are not familar with them, when eLance and oDesk merged recently, they rebranded as UpWorks with the largest freelancer network in the world and $1B in revenue last year.

UpWorks was wondering how we managed to snag their #3 iOS Developer globally and how we streamlined and managed our project remotely from start to app approval.
We were very happy to be chosen for this because we are big believers in remote working and using global arbitrage to be mutually beneficial for both parties. Hope this helps anyone interested in doing the same.

Q: SocialTrendly’s tech team is distributed; your first app developer was in Eastern Europe. How do you make things work across such a distance?

A: We actually take pride in being distributed. It isn’t as important for tech professionals to be under the same roof. If we were in San Francisco, we’d need to pay much higher prices and worry about losing our talent to each company around the block. With our distributed model, we can really work with the best talent from around the world, at a good but competitive rate, have a greater impact on someone’s life, and work with a professional who’s committed to our project’s success.

Socialtrendly is Getting Personal

SocialTrendly is officially focusing more heavily on our personality platform.
Our personality platform was originally developed for our Vibespotr App.

After launching Vibespotr, we decided to utilize our personality platform in a broader way.
While developing our Personality algorithms for Vibespotr’s recommendation engine we saw we had created something truly interesting and unique that could be utilized by other companies to get a better understanding of their user communities or even to build apps that would perform better by understanding a user’s taste graph and allow for new and interesting matching with minimal investment time from a user.

The SocialTrendly platform reveals insights into a user’s personality and then creates like-minded matches across their networks with people, celebrities, brands and more through cool looking infographic-style visuals.

Our proprietary AI analyzes language, sentiment and interests from a user’s social media streams to identify individual personality and taste. We plan on using gamification to enrich this data while keeping things fun and engaging.

Hanging out (kind of) at Mike Tysons Las Vegas Mansion

We were asked to do a different kind of monitoring event using the SocialTrendly Geo-Temporal Platform.
That’s our fancy way of saying that we can figure out what people’s sentiment and feelings are at a particular location based on social media posts, content and more.

In this case, the party was at Mike Tyson’s mansion in Las Vegas. Pretty fun gig and we even caught someone trespassing when we noticed a tweet coming from outside the party area on the estate.
For the most part though it was fun in the sun. This was actually an event for a really cool promotional company based in Los Angeles. They specialize in throwing lavish parties and invite all the hottest online personalities to come and use all kinds of cool merchandise at a fun or glamorous location.

Companies and brands donate cool stuff for celebrities to use, the social-media celebrity elite post all the fun they are having with said cool stuff. The celebs get paid, the brands get millions of impressions and the promo company pockets a chunk… while SocialTrendly watches everything from above to gauge effectiveness and find brand hits.
